Hello fellow rug hookers! We made it home safely and are staying with my brother in Upper Sackville until we can get into our own home Feb 1st. Right now I am in Ottawa watching over my grandson Derrick while my daughter Tracy and her husband Rick are having a well deserved holiday in Cancun! Derrick and I are having a GREAT lot of fun decorating the Christmas tree and playing beyblades :0) I go back to NS on Dec 10 and Bill and I come up to Ottawa again on Dec 23-Jan 1 to celebrate Christmas with our family. All my rug hooking supplies are still packed and I am suffering some withdrawals but hopefully some time in Feb I will get all set up again and back to my passion! Happy Holidays to you all and Best Wishes for a Happy New Year. Talk to you next year!!!

Hello everyone, great to have you drop in again! I have had a few more weekends at the Millarville Market, the place is a lot of fun and it is a great way to meet fellow rug hookers and people who would like to be rug hookers. Many have asked me if I would teach them how to hook so if anyone reading my site has an interest in learning the basics of rug hooking I would be willing to make up some kits and have some classes. Leave me a message on my ladybugrugs@live.ca email and if I get enough interest we can arrange some fun classes. My sister-in-law suggested I hook some coasters.
They are 5 X 5, what do you think? I had fun making them.
Talk to you later!

I have been having a wonderful summer but have ignored by blogging! I joined the Sheep Creek Weavers Guild and went to my first meeting today and what a hoot!!! What a great bunch of gals! The guild is made up of women involved in all aspects of fibre arts such as the ancient arts of spinning, weaving, and felting. There was another woman there who did rug hooking and her work was amazing! The monthly meetings are followed by a demonstration or show and tell of what the members are working on or have completed, and again, the skills of these women were very apparent! I can see how easy it would be to get “hooked”, pardon the pun, on learning any of these fibre arts. They offer workshops on spinning, felting, on and off loom weaving techniques, color, dyeing and design and I look forward to signing up for some of the workshops! It is only $25 a year to join! and they have a comprehensive library of fibrecraft books, free of charge to members. They also have a very wide range of spinning, weaving, and dyeing equipment available for rent. I think I am going to very much enjoy being part of this group!! Talk to you all again soon!

I sold 3 of my rugs at Millarville Market on Sat Aug 6th!!!! My Gosh, what a thrill!!! It was our second market and the woman who bought the rugs, her name is Tracy too, just like my wonderful daughter, was such a great person as was her family, and what a treat it was to meet someone who knew the true value of a hand hooked rug! The three rugs were all from my lively ”Saltbox Series” that are so much fun to do with all the colors and hills and people! And what great fun Millarville Market is! The vendors and customers and staff alike are all a joy to be around. The hours are from 9 – 2 and the day just flies by. I have found some more of my patterns for the ”Saltbox Series” which I hope to start in a few weeks so keep checking the “buy it now” tab. Thanks for visiting!

I have updated my “art of rug hooking” article and made a few other changes so be sure to visit all the pages of my website. The second rug of my season series is finished and you can view both of them under my “buy it now” tab. I am now volunteering at the local Y in the preschool program and I love it, it does take up some of my rug hooking time but I also think that is a good thing! It is good to get out and do other things and meet new people and I love the children and this fills in a bit for being away and missing my own grandson Derrick who I will be seeing in a couple of weeks YIPPEE!!! I am hoping your summer is beautiful and warm and filled with family and good friends!!!
