Hello Dear Friends!  I had a wonderful summer with my daughter and grandson in Ottawa.  I am so blessed to have been able to spend that precious time with them and what a great time we had!!!!!!  I want to show you the fox I hooked while there.  It’s a pattern of a fox picture my grandson Derrick did, he even helped me hook a bit and he is only 8!!! and what a Sweetie pie he is!!!!!!!!!

Dear Friends:  It is hard to believe that I am back here so soon after my dedication to a friend who passed away in December from a brain tumor only to pay tribute to my Best Friend Valerie Nickerson who passed away very suddenly Feb 5th 2014, 10 days after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.  What a shock, what a shame, what a great loss!  Val my closest friend, my Amigo, I thought the world of you. Your friendship meant everything to me , you were a true friend, a beautiful soul,  and I could always count on you to be there, I loved your honesty and frankness.  Just the other day I was dusting our 3 Amigos picture of her and me and Ginger at lunch at Applebee’s, and it brought a smile to my face.  She always gave me pewter angels and her crocheted doilies for gifts which I will always cherish as I have cherished our friendship.  Val brought so many “gifts” to my life and I will never forget her, it was my privilege to be her friend.  We had some amazing times together and we were always laughing and having fun, so much fun.  We did not have to live in the same city, we did not have to see each other every day, we had the kind of friendship that comes from the soul and I will miss her.  Family meant every thing to Val and she so often talked about her children and of course the grandchildren, she loved them all so very much, she was so proud of all of them.  And how wonderful to have had all of them there, she would have been at peace to have been able to have that.   I had a wonderfully long talk with her husband Wayne last night and the pain is so clearly in his voice but he seems content that he had some time to spend with Val before she passed.  This was so sudden, such a shock to me but I can take comfort in knowing that you are no longer suffering and that you are at peace.  It was painful talking to her and knowing she was in so much pain.  These words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about Val, she was too young, too valuable a person to leave us.  Maybe God Grant you Eternal Peace My Amigo.  This is the comedic rug I hooked of the 3 Amigos back in 2010.

Well another new year is upon us, where did 2013 go?!  I turned 60 on December 31, 2013, where did the time go??  It was a great year with the exception of the premature death of a dear fellow rug hooker, Kim Isaacs.  What a beautiful person you were Kim, so kind and compassionate, always happy and with a kind word for everyone!  I would like to dedicate the following rug to Kim, she loved the story of my grandson doing a presentation at school on his “Someone Special to me – My Nan!”  My grandson Derrick is a goalie, his number is 31, he was 8 years old on Nov 7, 2013 and I hooked him this pond hockey rug, which you will see now looks great framed.  Derrick is my “Someone Special to me!” and I love him dearly!!  Here’s to you Kim, may God Grant You Eternal Peace my dear friend!   With Love, Respect and Admiration Jeanie

Hello my friends!  It has been a long time, I was not sure if I was ever going to hook any rugs again!  Lots of other things going on but then a lady asked me to make her a pattern and I got to looking at them and I cried, Oh, how I have missed this so I took up the hook again and I’m loving it!  This is just a little “Family” frame I did of my daughter, grandson and me when he was just a baby, he is now almost 8 years old and he is the Apple of Nanny’s Eye!!!!  Hope to see you all back here soon and HAPPY RUG HOOKING!!!!!!!

Hello Fellow Hookers!  I hope you all had a Wonderful Holiday Season, I sure did!  Went to Cancun with my family and then back to Ottawa with them for Christmas, what a wonderful visit, nearly a month with them but it sure didn’t seem like it was that long:0)  and I do miss them already.  It’s hard to believe we’re into another new year and it is time to get back to some hooking, YAHOO!  I have started the winter scene which will finish off my 4 seasons.  I never thought I would say this but it took be a while to get back into it after not hooking for 2 months!  I would really like to do something unique after that, I will have to give it some thought.  I want to wish all my hooking friends a Happy and Healthy 2013!!!!
